Coffee Trails – Weekend break to Chikmagalur

2nd / 3rd/ 4th / 5th November

Did you know that the very first coffee beans in India were cultivated in Chickmagalur?
A Sufi saint called Baba Budan smuggled seven coffee beans into India over 400 years ago, and thus began South India’s love affair with coffee.

Join us as we explore one of the most picturesque destinations in South India and trek through verdant green coffee plantations and lush jungles.
Visit Mullangiri peak which is one of the most sought after trekking destinations in South India.

Weather in pleasant in November – ranging between 30 degrees centigrade to 19 degrees centigrade.

We will pick you up from a central location in Bangalore for 4 days and 3 nights of fun in Coffee Country.
(or at the airport – if most people are flying in)

The mountains will be your playground for the next few days with about 400 acres of largely unexplored Shola forests and coffee plantations for you to tramp through.
Or, you could spend your time drinking endless cups of fresh brewed coffee from a vantage point, high up in a tree house.

We stay in cottages at an outdoor mountain adventure camp, nestled deep in the woods and high up in the tallest Western Ghats in South India.

The property is a heritage one with an 1800’s classic British bungalow that we will use as our base camp.

Activities will include estate walks, treks inside coffee plantains alongside streams, and a visit to Mullyangiri Hills.
The trails around Mullyangiri,Chikmagalur will take you through some of the more beautiful and natural trails with scenic beauty all around and a panoramic view from the top.
On our return journey to Bangalore we will stop for you to enjoy the architecture of the temples at Belur, if time permits. This 12th century temple has many carved figures known as Madanikas or dancers and pillars of exotic design.
